AUGUST SERIES // The Impact of a Story. Our spiritual life and our role in the life of the church can sometimes be better seen through everyday objects. This series uses various object lessons the pastor has been collecting throughout the past couple years, some new and others familiar from past messages, but with fresh perspectives for our current context. Enjoy considering the spiritual insights from everyday familiar things.
CYCLAVIA // Sunday, August 21, 11 am–2 pm. CicLAvia is a free event that turns streets into public parks for a Sunday. This Sunday CicLAvia is coming to us, right past the church building on Hollywood Blvd and we’re organizing to set up a tent on the sidewalk outside the fire station to offer free water and air for bike tires from 11 am–2 pm.
Here’s what you can do to volunteer for the church at this community outreach event:
Show up on Sunday from 11 am–2 pm to hand out water, help people fill their tires with air, and anything else you can think of to be helpful and neighborly to CicLAvia participants! Please use street parking (don’t use the church parking lot if possible) and note that Hollywood Blvd will be closed.
Unable to make it on Sunday? Stay after church today to help prep water bottles with a custom label that will help spread the word about Compassion Connection, the church’s shower ministry.

BIBLE JOURNAL. Do you want to have a keepsake Bible journal from your studies in the book of Luke? Pastor Branden recommends certain English Standard Version editions of the book of Luke & Acts to use alongside the various sermon series we are venturing through this year. SABBATH SCHOOL. Our Adult Sabbath School classes have resumed their 10 am start time on Sabbath morning. They are a hybrid in person and Zoom class for those worshipping remotely. If you would like to join a Sabbath morning class, please email info@hollywoodsda.org and you will be directed to the teachers.
