NOVEMBER SERIES. THE LAST ONES. Have you ever lost your faith in humanity? Have you been filled with disappointment after hearing the news of yet another act of hate or injustice and wondered if there is anybody who does right anymore? Revelation speaks of The Last Ones who still have their faith in Jesus and hold to the Law of Love, and the resounding question from the pages of Scripture for us today, as all others fall away is, what are you clinging to?

SERIES RECOMMENDED RESOURCES.

LIGHTING THE ADVENT CANDLE. Advent is a time of expectation and hope. "Advent" means "arrival" 
or "coming" and advent candles help us find focus during the busy holiday season. The Candle of Hope is also known as the Prophet's Candle. The prophets of the Old Testament waited in hope for the Messiah's arrival. Today, we wait for another arrival, one promised to us by Jesus himself. "When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am." John 14:3 (New Living Translation) As we reflect on Jesus' humble beginning all those years ago in Bethlehem, what are you hoping for today?

  • Devotional Prayer // “Dear God, You heard the cries of Your people and promised to send a Savior. As we sit in Advent, fill us with hope and longing for Jesus, the One Who Saves. Amen.”

NEW // 2021 Ministry Review Committee. If you are a member of Hollywood Adventist Church, your input is needed. Kirsten, Church Clerk, sent a Survey Monkey out to all membership email addresses that she has and asks that you complete the survey, selecting individuals that you would like to see serve our congregation by affirming ministries and changing or adding leaders where needed! This process occurs every two years and is known as a Nominating Committee in other congregations. Please complete the survey by Sunday, November 28. If you have not received the survey, check your spam folder, and if you still can’t find it, call the church office and ask for Kirsten’s contact information.

SABBATH SCHOOL. Our Adult Sabbath School classes have resumed their 10 am start time on Sabbath morning.  They are a hybrid in person and Zoom class for those worshipping remotely.  If you would like to join a Sabbath morning class, please email info@hollywoodsda.org and you will be directed to the teachers.

THE WELL (Women’s Ministry). Join our new series “REBUILD” where we will take a closer look at the Book of Nehemiah. Friday nights, 7:00pm (PST) via Zoom. For more info, please contact Merlinda at TheWell@hollywoodsda.org.

FAMILY MINISTRY. Sabbath School for children, youth and their families continue to be on hold for the time being. In the lobby are Worship Activity Kits for kids to use during the 11 am worship program. Instructions for use are on the cart and the boxes are updated weekly with new materials. We maintain a donation-based clothing closet to provide freshly washed clothes to our shower guests needing a clean change. We are in constant need of new and gently used t-shirts, pants, socks, and new underwear for all genders.
